Very nice hotel and the stuff is very freindly, The location is very good
I like the design of the hotel. You feel the class. Good variety in breakfast. Friendly room service.
This hotel is not suitable for family with young kids as it has a few stairs with no ramps at all. The concierge staff at the door will never offer help with the strolleys or even your shopping bags which was disheartening. The location is not great either. you are surrounded with loads of shops but they are 90% for wholesale. Also, there's almost no decent restaurants nearby. The reception staff as well as the staff at the breakfast area are not friendly at all and never smiles.
The Crowne Plaza Old City is only a 30 minute ride to/from the airport, yet close to all the tourist attractions and modern shopping. It's a little higher priced than the "boutique" hotels, but you get what you pay for. A word of advise; whenever you take a taxi in Istanbul, carry a printout of your destination on a google map. Also give the taxi the district name first. For this hotel, the district is called "Laleli". Thus you would say "take me to Laleli, Crown Plaza hotel".
As usual, my main complaint of Turkish hotels is the breakfast. If you can, avoid paying for it and eat somewhere else.
Everything is new and clean
The location is a bit far from the real old city sightseeings
good 4/5 stars hotel, with internet free, swimming pool, no negative remark; be informed it is 2 km from blue mosk, but in a very active place for shopping -good value for money
Location of hotel and friendly staff and comfortable room which was a good size
Lots - Cramped rooms, rude staff, bad food ....
Near to all tourist attractions. Easily connected with the tram station and Metro. and hence no need to spend heavily on taxi to reach to and from airport and to see all the tourist attractions. Extremely neat and tidy. There is freshness all around. Health club is fantastic.
I felt the bell boy service was not as fast as all the other services.
One can not have same breakfast for more than three days, however during our stay of six days the menu did not changed and we had the same stuff, scranbeled eggs/boiled eggs, scranbeled eggs/boiled eggs, scranbeled eggs/boiled eggs, scranbeled eggs/boiled eggs etc etc
The position of the hotel is excellent for walking to Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar etc. and there are some nice restaurants close by.
people of front desk not nice
The Crowne Plazza was a funtional hotel in the heart Of Istanbul old city, best because everything was a Taxi ride or short walk from the hotel.
room very small. location very bad in the middle of whole sale shopping area. most taxi drivers don't know the location. you can't sleep from street noise. spa very poor. worst part is bringing additional bill for tips along with normal bill for room service.
Breakfast was good and varied, the hall looks gorgeous, the room are spacious enough and clean, the access to the tram nearby is very handy.
Well, we were told that we had been upgraded, accordingly to the hotel policy. But the junior suite was at the top floor and under the roofs, which means that the cupboards were too low to afford me to hang my dress, not to mention my long dress! Then, we were repatriated to our booking level room, which was deluxe double room, but the beds were twin beds! So not only did we not get an upgrade but we actually got a downgrade!!! Not a big issue but not very pleasant.
The room was very spacious and nice. Location is central. Hotel has a pool + sauna + steam room
Prices for a rooom are high but you can get good deals by booking in advance
